This months book, "Into the Wild" has been on my list for quite some time now, so I'm really excited to finally read this one and that it was chosen for the book club pick. I've seen the movie and loved it, and just really love the author as well Jon Krakauer. "Into the Wild" is based on a true story about Christopher Johnson McCandless's life and his journey to finding true happiness and his adventures that ensue while finding a path of his own. It is a National Bestseller, and sure to be a great one!

If you're new to the book club and want to vote on our next book club selection, the vote takes place each month by the book club members on our Facebook group

From the Amazon description of the book:

Immediately after graduating from college in 1991, McCandless had roamed through the West and Southwest on a vision quest like those made by his heroes Jack London and John Muir. In the Mojave Desert he abandoned his car, stripped it of its license plates, and burned all of his cash. He would give himself a new name, Alexander Supertramp, and , unencumbered by money and belongings, he would be free to wallow in the raw, unfiltered experiences that nature presented. Craving a blank spot on the map, McCandless simply threw the maps away. Leaving behind his desperate parents and sister, he vanished into the wild.
